Virginia High School Evacuated Due To Fire In Bathroom

A small fire forced the evacuation of a Virginia high school shortly after students came to class on Wednesday morning, officials say.

Crews from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department were called to South Lakes High School in the 11400 block of South Lakes Drive in Reston at around 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 3 to investigate a reported fire.

The building was evacuated as a precaution, and officials say that investigators were quickly able to locate the fire inside a bathroom in the building.

Firefighters were able to survey the situation and extinguished the fire without incident. There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
